"The Number of the Beast" is Iron Maiden's seventh single and the second single from Iron Maiden's 1982 album of the same name. The song made it in at #7 on VH1's 40 Greatest Metal Songs. The Number of the Beast was ranked #6 in Martin Popoff's book "The Top 500 Heavy Metal Songs Of All Time".
Walkthrough
In the intro when you have yellow through orange coming, simply hold down yellow with every note. The same applies to blue. This does not apply to expert though due to there being chords after each single note. After that, it is all down to your own skill. Good luck!
As for the intro in Expert, learn to strum up and down, or if you prefer to strum down, be prepared to wear your shoulder out very quickly. The solo takes practice, but with a little skill you can complete it without having to save yourself with star power. Star power is best used in the endless 3-note chords to rack up major points.
One great way to remember how to do well in the pre-solo bridge is, if alt-strumming, to remember to end with the stroke opposite of how you started. So, if you're used to ending long alt-strum phrases on a downstrum, start with an upstrum and vice versa. You just have to remember that on the last strum of the long phrases in the pre-solo bridge you want to strum in the opposite direction from how you started.
